Phase 1: Preparation and Instrument Installation

Before turning on the device, ensure it is securely mounted without obvious vibration. The stability of the fluid system is crucial for accurate particle sizing (1μm∼1000μm).

  • Handling High-Pressure Systems: If the system interface pressure exceeds 10 MPa, you must install a pressure-reducing device between the system interface and the liquid inlet. (Optional devices can handle up to 42 MPa).
  • Managing Flow Rates: The allowed flow rate is 5 mL/min∼500 mL/min (typical value is 30 mL/min).
    • High flow rate: Install a flow regulating valve at the liquid outlet.
    • Low flow rate: Install an optional fluid pump between the outlet and the waste reservoir.
  • System Preheating & Flushing: Power on the instrument and let it preheat for 10 minutes. Open the interface valve so the tested oil can flush the pipeline. Crucial rule: The flushing volume must not be less than 100 mL to remove residual contaminants.

Phase 2: Step-by-Step Operation Guide

Once the hardware is prepared, navigate through the front panel’s menu interface to set up your test.

Step 1: Configure Measurement Settings

Navigate to Measurement Settings (Mea.Set). Here you need to adjust:

  • Flow Rate: Match the actual flow rate passing through the instrument.
  • Sample Volume & Repetitions: Decide how much liquid will be analyzed and how many times the test will loop.
  • Flush Volume/Time: Set the auto-flush parameters. Note: The priority of flushing volume is higher than flushing time.

Step 2: Set Warn (Alarm) Parameters

Go to Warn Settings (WarnSet). The ZWLPC allows you to set custom alarm levels based on specific standards (e.g., NAS 1638/SAE 4059F). You can configure the system to trigger an I/O signal or light up the front panel LED indicator when the pollution level goes above (>) or drops below (<) a predefined class.

Step 3: Select the International Standard

The instrument supports up to 7 global cleanliness standards. Click the STAND. button on the Test Interface to cycle through your required mode, such as:

  • ISO 4406
  • NAS 1638 / SAE 4059F
  • GJB420B
  • GOST17216

Step 4: Run the Test and Save Data

Click the SAMPLE button to begin. The display will refresh the pollution level in real-time. Once the test is finished, you can click REVIEW for detailed channel particle sizes (e.g., >4μm(c), ) and click STORE to save the data to the local memory (up to 1,000 groups) or a USB disk.

Phase 3: Cleaning and Maintenance

To ensure the level accuracy and prolong the equipment’s lifespan, regular maintenance is mandatory.

  • Sensor Cleaning: If the particle counter is frequently used to detect oils with a high degree of contamination, or if the detected pollution levels suddenly behave abnormally, the instrument must be temporarily removed from the fluid system. The internal pipeline and instrument sensor should be flushed thoroughly using dedicated cleaning agents.
  • Calibration Check: Periodically run a standard material at a fixed rate (via the CAL. Settings) to ensure the count value matches the standard’s nominal value, confirming that the channel voltage is accurate.
