1. Simplified Operation and Fast Measurement Cycle

In a field testing environment, complicated parameter settings increase the risk of human error. The core control unit of the ZWBB201 uses a 168M ARM processor, providing powerful computing performance.

For standard tests, operators simply connect the test cables and tap “Start” on the screen. The instrument automatically finishes the three-phase turns ratio and connection group measurement in about 3 seconds, without needing any pre-set parameters. If the connection method is unknown, the system’s built-in “unknown automatic analysis” function will automatically identify and match the correct group.

2. Wide Testing Compatibility (Scott-T Transformer as an Optional Feature)

The ZWBB201 comes standard with a built-in three-phase signal source. It easily handles common standard connection groups (such as Y/y, Y/d, D/y, D/d, ZN/y, etc.). It also supports TTR and polarity testing for single-phase transformers, PTs (Potential Transformers), and CTs (Current Transformers).

Customization for Special Transformers:
Besides standard transformers, railway traction power grids and specific industrial fields often use Scott-T Transformers. Due to their unique internal structure that converts three-phase power to two-phase power, standard testers usually cannot measure them accurately.

3. More Than Just Turns Ratio: In-depth On-site Diagnostics

Simply checking if the TTR error is within the allowed range is sometimes not enough to find potential transformer faults. To provide more data for reference, the ZWBB201 integrates the following diagnostic tools:

  • Waveform and Harmonic Analysis: Through the 7-inch true-color touch screen, the device displays the primary and secondary voltage waveforms in real-time. Engineers can directly run a 1st to 32nd order voltage harmonic content analysis on the device. This is very helpful for evaluating power grid quality or the overall health of the transformer core.
  • Excitation Current Reference: When applying the test voltage, the instrument measures the excitation current at the same time. If one phase shows an abnormal current fluctuation, it can serve as a key preliminary indicator of an inter-turn short circuit in the internal windings.

4. Seamless Data Processing and Export

Managing test data well is the final step of field work. The ZWBB201 is equipped with 128M of internal memory (expandable up to 4G).

For data exporting, we created a very user-friendly design: the test data is saved in a standard Dbase3 database format. Users just need to insert a USB drive to export the data and open it directly with Microsoft Excel. This saves you the trouble of installing special PC drivers or background PC software. In addition, the device has a built-in micro thermal printer to quickly print test reports right on site.
